In April of 2002, Father Perrone and three Detroit businessmen founded Opus Bono Sacerdotii.
Ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit in 1978, he is pastor of Assumption Grotto Church in Detroit. His parish contains an outdoor grotto of our Lady of Lourdes where numerous miracles and conversions have taken place for over a hundred years, but especially on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15th.
Father Perrone has a degree in music composition, and a master's degree in Theology. He is considered a world-class pianist and expert on sacred music.
Besides his pastoral work, he often gives talks to special groups and directs the parish choir in some of the great choral and orchestral Masses of the Church's heritage. He is often called upon as guest conductor for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and has written and orchestrated many musical pieces most notably for the Catholic Mass.
He is a founder and spiritual director of Call to Holiness, Inc., the Saint Joseph Secular Discalced Carmelite Community and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Carmelite Community, in Detroit. He has been pastor of Assumption Grotto Church since 1994.
